This Mandibular Gordon is a fixed-removable appliance that is attached to bands via horizontal removable brackets placed on the first permanent molars.  The anterior acrylic portion of the appliance extends back to include the first bicuspids and contains a midline expansion screw. 

The Gordon appliance primarily develops the intercanine width but also provides molar expansion and uprighting.
