The simple, inexpensive interim partial shown here replaces a single, lost permanent central. This example is shown with “C” clasps and ball clasps to provide the patient with retention. Occlusal rests are placed to protect the implant site by making the appliance tooth borne. To keep these wires out of occlusion, it may be necessary to prepare small rest seats in the teeth. This preparation needs to be done prior to taking the impression for this appliance. An opposing model, wax bite and Bioform shade are necessary for appliance construction. Also, please specify if the anterior teeth are to be butted up against the tissue or if an acrylic saddle is desired.
