Gaining space for an un-erupted bicuspid is a common challenge. When first and second molars are present, a bicuspid can be moved mesially with the Looped Coil Space Regainer. This simple appliance consists of a band on the molar with a wrap-around looped finger spring to apply mesial pressure to the bicuspid. Once cemented into place, the appliance is adjusted in the mouth by flattening the loop with 139-bird beak pliers. Note: This appliance is not recommended for moving more than one tooth or for moving a molar distally.
