The Inman Power Component is an excellent addition to the Arnold Expander in that it allows for passive insertion of the appliance. Once the bands are seated the spring can then be compressed by advancing the unidirectional sliding lock. Prior to the IPC it was necessary to pre-load the appliance by placing a longer section of coil spring, compressing the appliance, and then seating it while activated.
